What a week uses
- Maps and navigation: little, especially if you download offline maps before you go.
- Messaging and voice calls: little; video calls use much more.
- Social media: scrolling video is the first source of use.
- Hotspot: every device you connect adds to what the phone uses.
We do not give a figure per app: it varies with video quality and settings. Look instead at your usage for a normal week in your phone's settings.
Fixed or unlimited?
A fixed plan stops when it is used up; an unlimited one keeps going, slower after the daily amount. For 7 days: 3 GB cost €8 at Airalo (valid 7 days), 1 GB €3.49 at Saily. Unlimited for 7 days: €21.90 with us, with 1 GB a day at full 4G speed then 512 kbps, every day of the week.

Before you buy, whichever seller
- Your phone: it must take an eSIM and not be locked to a carrier. Check your model.
- Installation: do it at home, on Wi-Fi, before you leave. The QR code is scanned once; keep it.
- On arrival: switch on mobile data and data roaming for the eSIM line only. Without data roaming a travel eSIM shows signal but no internet.
- Your number: your usual SIM stays active for calls and texts; switch its data roaming off to avoid charges.
- The length: count the day you land and the day you leave; if you hesitate between two lengths, take the longer one.
