Short answer: yes, Orange Tunisie, Ooredoo and Tunisie Telecom all offer eSIM, and a visitor can get one. The difference with a travel eSIM is where and when: an operator's eSIM is obtained in its shop in Tunisia, once you have arrived, and is paid for in dinars. In exchange you get a Tunisian number and a price per gigabyte far below any travel eSIM. A travel eSIM is bought online, installed at home and works when you land, with data only.
We sell a travel eSIM, so we are not neutral. What follows is what each operator's own site says, read on 1 October 2026 (Orange Tunisie read again on 16 October 2026). The Ooredoo and Tunisie Telecom sites did not load for us that day; for those two we rely on their pages as indexed by a search engine and on Ooredoo's official assistance forum, and we quote no price for either.
Orange Tunisie eSIM: the essentials
- Where to get it: in an Orange shop, in Tunisia. Orange Tunisie's eSIM page says you scan the QR code obtained in a shop; it describes no online eSIM purchase.
- eSIM price: on 16 October 2026 the page offered the eSIM free with any new mobile subscription, still marked "until 30 September". Ask the price in the shop.
- Data prices: prepaid SIM data from 3.8 dinars (400 MB, 7 days) to 30.4 dinars (25 GB, 30 days); data options from 5 dinars (1.25 GB, 30 days) to 250 dinars (500 GB, 365 days).
- QR code: handed over in the shop; once scanned, it downloads the profile to the phone. Only one eSIM is active at a time, alongside the physical SIM.
- Phones: Orange's list names iPhones (XS to 13, and the SE 2020), the Galaxy S21 and the Huawei P40. For a newer model, see is my phone eSIM compatible?
- Without a shop visit: our travel eSIM uses the Orange Tunisie network and is bought online, but it is not an Orange Tunisie line: no Tunisian number (details below).
Orange Tunisie
Orange Tunisie's eSIM page describes the process in one line: you scan a QR code obtained in a shop, and the profile downloads to the phone. The page lists compatible phones and notes that only one eSIM is active at a time alongside the physical SIM. It also carried a promotion, the eSIM free with any new mobile subscription, dated until 30 September.
Orange publishes its prepaid data prices. On 16 October 2026 its SIM data page showed:
| Data | Validity | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 400 MB | 7 days | 3.8 dinars |
| 6 GB | 30 days | 16.15 dinars |
| 25 GB | 30 days | 30.4 dinars |
The same page lists data options from 5 dinars for 1.25 GB valid 30 days to 250 dinars for 500 GB valid 365 days. These are local prices, in dinars, and they are much lower per gigabyte than any travel eSIM, including ours.
Ooredoo
Ooredoo has an offer aimed at visitors, the Holiday SIM. Asked on its official assistance forum by a traveller who wanted to order from abroad, Ooredoo answered that the Holiday SIM can be bought as an eSIM at the Ooredoo shop in the airport in Tunisia, or reserved online. Its eSIM page says a new eSIM is obtained in an Ooredoo shop. The packs and their prices are on Ooredoo's Holiday SIM page; we do not copy them here because we could not open the page ourselves that day.
Tunisie Telecom
Tunisie Telecom's eSIM page tells customers to go to the nearest Tunisie Telecom shop and ask for an eSIM, and says the QR code can be scanned again on a compatible phone. It adds that an eSIM must be removed from the old phone before being installed on a new one.
Operator eSIM or travel eSIM
| Operator eSIM | Travel eSIM | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you get it | In the operator's shop in Tunisia (Ooredoo also takes reservations online) | Online, from home |
| When you can install it | After you arrive | Before you leave |
| Identity document | Asked for when the line is opened | None asked |
| Payment | In Tunisian dinars | In euros, by card |
| Phone number and calls | Yes, a Tunisian number | No, data only |
| Price per gigabyte | Much lower | Higher |
Opening a line in Tunisia is tied to an identity document, which is why it happens in a shop. The steps and what to bring are in Tunisia SIM card at the airport, or an eSIM?
Which one to take
- A stay of several weeks, or you need a Tunisian number: an operator's eSIM or SIM. It costs less and gives you calls.
- A week or two of holiday, and you want data when you land: a travel eSIM. Nothing to do at the airport, no dinars needed, your own number stays on your usual SIM.
- A one-day stop: a travel eSIM, because there is no time for a shop. See Tunisia eSIM for a stopover or a cruise day.
Both can sit in the same phone: a travel eSIM for the first days, and a local line later if the stay gets longer.
Our eSIM runs on Orange Tunisie's network
If the reason you were looking for an Orange Tunisie eSIM is its network, our travel eSIM uses that network and no other: unlimited data, with 1 GB a day at full 4G speed and then 512 kbps, from โฌ6.50 for 1 day to โฌ84.90 for 30 days. It is not an Orange Tunisie line: no Tunisian number, no calls, and a higher price per gigabyte than Orange's own prepaid offers. What you pay for is having it installed before you leave.
